How to choose the right aquarium
Choosing the volume, shape and material of the aquarium is the first step. The larger the aquarium, the easier it is to manage.
Detailed explanation
For a beginner the minimum recommended volume is 60 litres for freshwater aquariums and 100 litres for marine aquariums.
Extra-clear glass (optiwhite) does not have the green tinge of normal glass. Acrylic is lighter but does scratch.
The cabinet must support the weight: a 200-litre aquarium weighs 250-280 kg. Positioning: away from direct sun, close to sockets and water points.
The aquarium must be leveled perfectly. An unlevel aquarium puts stress on the silicone joints.
