Butterflyfish (Chaetodontidae)
Marine fish with bright colours and an elongated snout. Most are not reef safe because they feed on coral polyps.
Detailed explanation
Butterfly fish (Chaetodon, Chelmon, Forcipiger) are among the most beautiful on the reef but most eat corals.
Few species are considered reef safe: Chaetodon kleini, C. miliaris. The Chelmon rostratus eats Aiptasia but can also pinch corals.
They require large aquariums (300+ litres), impeccable water and varied nutrition.
