Parasitic disease that coats fish in a golden or gray powder. More dangerous than stroke because it is often diagnosed too late.

The velvet appears as a uniform golden veil, visible by illuminating the fish with a side torch. Sea velvet (Amyloodinium) can kill a fish in 24-48 hours.
In freshwater aquariums: darkening, temperature increase to 30 degrees, salt, copper-based drugs or malachite green. In marine aquariums: copper in hospital aquariums.
Quarantine is the only effective prevention. The entire aquarium or all fish in quarantine must be treated.
