Rasbora

Small peaceful fish from Southeast Asia. Ideal for planted aquariums and nano aquariums. They should be kept in packs.

Detailed explanation

The most popular Rasboras are: Rasbora harlequin (Trigonostigma heteromorpha), Rasbora galaxy (Danio margaritatus), Rasbora chili (Boraras brigittae, one of the smallest species).

They are gregarious fish: minimum school of 8-10 individuals. The small species (Boraras) are perfect for 20-30-litre nano aquariums.

Parameters: pH 6.0-7.0, soft water, temperature 22-26 degrees. They like planted aquariums with moderate light and amber water.

The Rasbora galaxy (Danio margaritatus) is one of the most recent discoveries in aquarium hobby (2006) and has immediately become very popular.
