Ember Tetra (Hyphessobrycon amandae)

Bright orange micro fish ideal for planted nano aquariums. Only 2 cm in length but intense colours in pack.

Detailed explanation

The Ember Tetra is one of the most beautiful fish for planted nano aquariums. Only 1.5-2 cm but the orange-red colour is bright.

It should be kept in a herd of at least 8-10, preferably 15+. In a well-planted aquarium with a dark green background, the school of Ember Tetras creates a spectacular contrast.

Parameters: pH 5.5-7.0, soft water, temperature 22-28 degrees. Very peaceful, compatible with adult shrimp (but can eat babies).

Native to Brazil (Rio Araguaia basin). In aquariums with amber water (tannins) the colours become even more intense.
